DEWAN PUBLIC SCHOOL, JAGRITI VIHAR ,MEERUT was established in 2004,fulfilling the aspiration of Late Shri Daulat Ram Dewan, a dedicated teacher who upheld the cause of education throughout his life. The school caters to the needs of over 1650 students from Nursery to class VIII.

It is a co-educational school recognized by the State Government with a special approval for the transaction of NCERT curriculum with English as the medium of instruction, which is largely followed in CBSE schools. Its premises are designed to achieve the objectives of constructing a strong foundation needed for the young learners.

The school provides ample facilities including a well stocked library, an IT centre and play ground etc. Along with scholastics, the school organizes a wide range of co-curricular activities in music, dance, dramatics, art and craft, athletics, yoga and such likes. Services like school health care, transport etc are available to the students. The school lays emphasis on holistic education. THE FOUNDER
Shri Daulat Ram Dewan, founder of Dewan Daulat Ram Trust Society, was born on 20 April 1902 in a family of progressive zamindars in District Sialkot. He passed his matriculation examination with merit. Because of his aptitude towards teaching, he completed Teachers’ Training and took up the job as Head Master of a Middle School. Later on he shifted to Gujarat and worked as a teacher in Khatro Laboha High School, Tanda Estate, Gujarat (Pakistan).
On partition in 1947, like millions of other victims, he was forced to leave his home and stayed in various camps and lastly settled in Meerut to begin a new lease of life again as a teacher. Teaching was in his blood and he was inspired by knowledge, love and service to all.

Throughout his life, he followed the supremacy of the Absolute, the brotherhood of the man and the blessedness of peace and goodwill. As a teacher he always wanted his students to be exalted in excellence, truth and purity, learning and wisdom, culture and religion and above all strength of character. His message to the students was: ‘INVENT FOR THE FUTURE AND REDISCOVER THE PAST’. He left behind a legacy of enriching and fulfilling education.
